Casey Butler

Ph.D. Candidate

Casey grew up on Florida’s east coast and received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Florida Institute of Technology. She then worked for several environmental NGOs and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission before enrolling in the doctoral program at FIU in 2020. Casey’s doctoral research is on two species of spiny lobster with contrasting life histories and their roles in coral reef tropho-dynamics and whether habitat degradation alters those roles. Casey is a mother of two and married to Jack Butler; she is unrelated to Mark Butler.
